Inspiration is a flicker in the corner of the eye, a shadow that slips away just as you try to name it. It arrives unbidden—a whisper in the dusk, the shape of a thought caught in a windowpane’s reflection, the warmth of sunlight crawling across the floor. For me, chasing inspiration has always been like chasing light.

The compass I use to navigate isn’t magnetic, it’s instinctual. It doesn’t point north; it turns restlessly toward whatever moves me. A phrase overheard in a check-out lane or a memory sparked by a whiff of perfume on a summer’s breeze. The way water bends light or how silence falls between words. These are the sparks I follow.

This section of Ink & Ember Studio is dedicated to the muses that guide me—the obsessions, curiosities, and unexpected moments that ignite wonder. Sometimes they come in the form of people. Sometimes in fragments of music or art or stories. But always, they carry me somewhere deeper.

Here is where I share those inspirations, and I hope you find inspiration here at the Ink & Ember Studio. This is the map I make as I go, the trail of glimmers I gather as I search for the next shimmer on the horizon. And as with all journeys, the best maps are drawn together. I’d love to know what lights your path—send me a note and share what inspires you.
